The Data: Levante and Madrid draw in game of changing fortunes

Levante entertained Real Madrid at Ciutat de València on Sunday. Madrid took control in the first period and got a 1-0 lead. But in the end, Levante worked their way back into the game and managed to swing the pendulum back to their side to make it all square. The La Liga game finished 3-3.

The visiting team Real Madrid started the match at pace and took the lead straight away already from the kickoff. After only 5 minutes Gareth Bale scored, with an assist from Karim Benzema.

Straight after the break, Roger Marti found the net and equalised for Levante.

With more than 30 minutes on the clock, Levante’s Jose Campana netted, from a pass from Jorge De Frutos Sebastian, and gave Levante the lead.

Vinicius Junior equalised for Real Madrid in the 73rd minute, with an assist by Casemiro.

Rober Pier gave Levante the lead, in the 79th minute.

Real Madrid equalised to make it 3-3 just six minutes later when Vinicius Junior scored one more time. This occasion he scored, with an assist by Karim Benzema. The 3-3 goal was the last goal of the game.

Levante’s Aitor Fernandez was sent off in the 87th minute.

Levante have two points while Real Madrid have four after two rounds of fixtures.

The last match between the teams ended in a 1-2 away win for Levante in January 2021.
