The ex-Blancos celebrity is happy to have seen a mythical figure turn things around in Spain, but accepts that he might be contemplating another challenge. Zinedine Zidane may decide to return to Juventus at a certain point in the near future for a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo, says Steve McManaman.

The legendary Frenchman is now calling the shots during another spell in charge of Real Madrid.

There was the strange question asked of his ability to replicate past successes early in the 2019-20 year, but the ideal response was offered to all those critics.

He could expect to find no lack of suitors were he to become accessible, with McManaman indicating that the likes of Juve, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain would welcome the World Cup winner in their dugout.

“He has turned it around again this year – I know he has gone back to his tried and tested formation of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric, but he is also getting very good results.

“He won the Supercopa lately, he is top of the league today and of course they have got Manchester City at the Champions League.

“He has walked away before so I assume when he retook the job he should have been given certain promises about different things.

He is a strong-willed guy and he does not suffer fools gladly. If there’s anybody that can walk away then it’ll be Zizou.

“It will be interesting to see what happens there, as he has barely played any of the players he purchased in the summer.

“Luka Jovic has barely played, he has gone back to Karim Benzema who has been incredible this year, so I really do think he needs a bigger say on transports, but as we know in Spain, players come and go.

“The president and the sporting manager occasionally choose their own players and give them as a present to the managers, so we’ll wait and see.

“Regarding the links to Juventus, he played, he speaks Italian and he is a hero over there, so it would be easy for him. Since Juventus are so dominant, he understands Cristiano very well, he understands a whole lot of the players really well.

“I don’t understand how Maurizio Sarri is considered at Juventus, but they are playing very well at this time. They are top of the league despite it being somewhat closer than usual.

“I believe Zizou could take any job right now. He’d find the PSG job if he wanted it, he would likely get the Bayern Munich job if he wanted it. Everybody would want him due to his record and what he has achieved in such a brief time.”
