The team have been on lockdown since Thursday following a part of the basketball team tested positive for coronavirus.

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos says there are”bigger issues than watching football” because he provided an update on his quarantine situation.

Madrid’s players are at home as a precaution after it had been announced that a part of this club’s basketball team had contracted Covid-19.

Both squads share many amenities in the Spanish capital, including the canteen and hydrotherapy amenities, meaning a number of Zinedine Zidane’s players might be infected too.

The club’s training ground was sent into lockdown after the statement , with La Liga then postponing at least the following two rounds of games, mentioning Madrid’s quarantine as one reason behind their decision.

Since that time, the Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2020 have been postponed, in addition to the other top-flight leagues around Europe.

Kroos appeared via FaceTime on German talk show Late Night Berlin to describe the situation that the players are now undergoing.

“`Actual celebrities in quarantine’ – which always sounds bad, but we’re only at home,” stated the 30-year-old.

“Everything is fine. They sent us home after there was a positive instance one of our basketball players, with whom we occasionally work relatively closely.

“Therefore it was sensible to send us home. My family is fine, with no indicators. We’re fit.”

“With three kids at home, it will not become boring. If you look right and left, the most important issue is that we’re doing well.”

Since the beginning of their proposed 15-day quarantine period, Madrid has also discovered that Euro 2020 will be postponed until 2021. Germany global Kroos was set to play an integral role under Joachim Low at the championship this summer but states that such issues are of small significance in comparison to more serious problems brought on by the virus.

“Nobody knows when [soccer ] will go on again,” added the midfielder. “However, you must honestly say it is secondary.

“When soccer will be played is in the base [of the list of priorities].

“The most important thing is the best way to find this invisible competition away again and the way to return to normal. There are quite a few other bigger problems than watching football again.”
