RB Leipzig 3 – 2 Real Madrid: Betting Review

German Victory and Multiple Betting Opportunities:

The betting build-up to the game was marked by interesting, but weird odds. Close to the kick off the Germans had odds of 2.30 to win the game in the 1×2 market. Real Madrid +0.25 was available in the Asian handicap market with odds close to even.

The Germans were winners in the 1×2 as well as the AH DNB and -0.25 lines. However, bets on Real Madrid after the first 15 minutes could have been profitable.

The first fifteen minutes of the game were very different than the rest of the match. If you exclude the first minutes of the game, both teams had chances at different times.

The only ‘safe’ bet would have been over 2.75 before kick-off. And with 2-0 @ 15’, the live over lines perhaps weren’t good enough to professionals by that time of the game.

Real Madrid: losers, but potentially profitable

I don’t understand the bold odds of this game, with a handicap to RB Leipzig. Even if we consider the full-time result and just the early and today markets, that’s still weird to me.

Live bets on Real Madrid proved to be very profitable. It was possible to buy Real Madrid DNB (+0) with odds of 2.1+ when the score was 3-1 and 2-0.

As time passed, Ancelotti subbed regulars like Carvajal and Alaba, and Real Madrid improved compared with the poor performance of the first 15’ minutes.

Motivation is a very complex factor in professional betting, big teams have good subs, but sometimes they are interested and focused on games of less relevance, and sometimes they aren’t. The number of points that Real Madrid had before the beginning of round 5 certainly affected their performance.

Real Madrid in the coming games – betting markets: what to expect

Italian coaches like good defences, and Real Madrid is still far from what Carlo wants. The decision to start with Rüdiger as a left-back was questionable and he was spot on to see that this formation wasn’t working.

This team of Real Madrid has players that can change their roles with great quality, giving the manager a wide array of tactical variations and weapons.

The highlights in that sense are Valverde and Rodrygo for sure. Valverde can be a great DM and RW, while Rodrygo is great as a Right Winger and Striker.

Some players like Alaba can also do that, as a CB and LB, but Nacho, Rüdiger, and Lucas Vázquez aren’t that good at different roles. In fact, Nacho isn’t that good at all compared with Militão or Alaba.

Real Madrid is certainly efficient to score goals, but they are also conceding goals. Match result betting is a market that needs to be analysed case by case, at each betting preview when it comes to Real Madrid. But their games are looking a bit ‘overish’ if we analyse the numbers.

In the last 5 games, Real Madrid had 18 goals in their matches. That’s an average of 3.6. Moreover, 3 out of 5 games had 4 goals or more, and 4 out of 5 had 3 goals or more.

We can say that Real Madrid is in good form, but their motivation and attention on the pitch in the Champions League when they felt comfortable with the points they have proved to be problematic against Shakhtar in Poland, and now against RB Leipzig in Germany.
